1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how ReddGrow Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies when you use the ReddGrow website and our Chrome Browser Extension (collectively, the “Service”).

This policy is a separate document from our Privacy Policy, but should be read in conjunction with it.

2. Technical Distinction: Cookies vs. Local Storage

Because ReddGrow operates primarily as a browser extension, we rely on slightly different technologies than a standard website.

Cookies: Small text files set by a web server and stored by your browser. They are automatically sent back to the server with every request.

Local Storage (Chrome Storage API): Data stored locally on your device within the extension’s isolated environment. Unlike cookies, this data is not automatically sent to our servers with every request. We use this to store your preferences and drafts directly on your computer for speed and privacy.

3. Technologies We Use

We categorize our data storage technologies into three types:

3.1 Strictly Necessary (Essential)

These are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.

NameTypeProviderPurpose
sb-access-tokenLocal StorageSupabaseAuthentication. Maintained to keep you logged in to the extension so you don’t have to authenticate for every single comment draft.
__stripe_midCookieStripeFraud Prevention. Used by our payment processor to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions during checkout.
__stripe_sidCookieStripeSession Management. Used by Stripe to process payments securely.

3.2 Functionality & Preferences

These allow the Service to remember choices you make to provide a more personalized experience.

draft_cacheLocal StorageReddGrowTemporarily saves your comment drafts on your device to prevent data loss if your browser crashes.

3.3 Analytics & Performance

These help us understand how users interact with the extension so we can improve it.

NameTypeProviderPurpose
_gaCookieGoogle AnalyticsUsage Stats. Registers a unique ID that is used to generate statistical data on how you use the website and dashboard.
_gidCookieGoogle AnalyticsSession Stats. Used to distinguish users and measure how often you visit the dashboard.

3.4 Marketing & Identification

None of these cookies store personally identifiable information (PII). All are first-party cookies set under our domain.

4. Third-Party Data Processors

Our Service integrates with third-party tools that may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies.

  • Stripe: When you interact with our billing pages, Stripe sets cookies to ensure PCI-DSS compliance and fraud detection.
  • OpenAI: We connect to OpenAI via API. This connection does not set tracking cookies on your device, as the interaction occurs server-to-server.
  • RB2B: When you visit our marketing site, RB2B may set cookies for visitor identification purposes if you have consented to marketing cookies. These cookies do not store PII directly. RB2B does not share data with advertising networks or data brokers.

5. Managing Your Preferences

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using our cookie consent banner. Click the cookie icon (bottom-left of the page) to open your preferences and accept or reject specific cookie categories. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the site to function.

5.1 In the Browser

You can also instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept “Strictly Necessary” cookies (like authentication tokens), you will not be able to log in to ReddGrow.

5.2 In the Extension

The ReddGrow extension relies on chrome.storage.local to function.

To Clear Data: You can remove all local data stored by the extension by right-clicking the ReddGrow icon and selecting “Remove from Chrome,” or by using the “Clear Data” button inside the extension’s settings menu.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
