Getting Started

How do I set up ReddGrow?
Sign up at app.reddgrow.ai and follow the 8-step onboarding:
  1. Choose Solo or Team workspace — this cannot be changed later
  2. Create a Campaign for the product or website you want to promote
  3. Pick an AI Advocate persona — the voice that writes your comments
  4. Select subreddits where your audience hangs out
  5. Connect a Reddit account by entering its username (we look up karma, age, and verified-email status — no password asked)
  6. Install the Chrome extension and pin it from the puzzle icon in your toolbar
  7. Wait for your first batch of drafts — they arrive via email and on the Drafts page
  8. Approve drafts — the extension posts them to Reddit automatically
How do drafts get generated?
ReddGrow scans your active subreddits continuously. The AI scores each post for relevance to your campaign and turns qualifying posts into comment draft replies. Control how many you receive via the AI Relevance Threshold in Settings → General: Strict (70%) ~1 in 4 posts, Balanced (50%) ~1 in 2 posts (default & recommended), Lenient (45%) most posts.
What are the two ways to post a draft?
Approve (extension) — click Approve on a pending draft. The Chrome extension posts to Reddit when conditions are met (karma, daily cap, subreddit rules).

Copy & Open (manual) — copies the comment text and opens the Reddit thread in a new tab. Paste, submit, done. The app automatically marks the draft as posted.
Why do I see zero drafts?
Check in order: (1) the campaign is toggled active, (2) subreddits are assigned to the campaign and active, (3) Settings → Scan History shows a recent successful scan, (4) the AI Relevance Threshold in Settings → General is not set to Strict on a niche topic. The Drafts page also shows an amber setup warning banner if campaigns or subreddits are missing.
How do I improve the quality of my drafts?
Three levers: (1) Refine your Advocate — rewrite N sample drafts in your own words; the AI learns your style. (2) Add a Knowledge Base to your Campaign — upload PDF / MD / TXT files or crawl your site (max 100 pages). (3) Tighten the threshold — Settings → General → Strict (70%) focuses on only the highest-relevance posts.

Troubleshooting

I see zero drafts — what should I check first?
Work through this checklist: (1) Campaign is toggled Active on the campaigns page. (2) At least one subreddit is assigned to the campaign and set to Active. (3) Settings → Scan History shows a recent successful scan — if stale or errored, click Scan Now on the Dashboard. (4) AI Relevance Threshold (Settings → General) is not set to Strict on a niche topic — try Balanced temporarily. (5) The Drafts page amber warning banner (if visible) points to the exact missing setup item. Still nothing after 24 hours? Email support@kaltalk.reddgrow.ai.
I have approved drafts but nothing is posting to Reddit
The Chrome extension does the actual posting — check these in order: (1) Extension icon is visible and pinned in Chrome's toolbar. (2) You are logged into reddit.com in the same Chrome browser. (3) Extension popup shows your ReddGrow account as connected. (4) Drafts page → Posting Queue tab shows drafts in Queued status. (5) Settings → Activity shows the last session time — the extension posts once per day in a random window; if today's session already ran, the next attempt is tomorrow.
The extension appears logged out or I see no activity in Settings → Activity
The extension can silently drop its session when the app session expires. Fix: (1) Confirm you are still logged into the ReddGrow app in Chrome. (2) Click the extension icon → click Log In. It opens /extension-auth-callback in your current tab and re-links the session automatically. (3) Confirm the new "Extension connected" event appears in Settings → Activity. On teams: each teammate's extension is a separate session — every person must log in individually.
Why are some drafts stuck in "Queued" for days?
A draft stays Queued when the extension cannot post it. Common causes: (1) The Reddit account's karma is below that subreddit's minimum — system retries as karma grows. (2) The subreddit has a posting cooldown or the account was rate-limited by Reddit. (3) The extension is not running (see the question above). (4) The daily cap was hit — quota resets at midnight UTC. You can manually archive stuck drafts from the Drafts page; they will not count against your limit.
I hit my daily draft limit but I have had empty days — is the quota resetting?
Quotas reset at midnight UTC, not your local clock. The daily cap is also per advocate, not per campaign — if only one advocate is active, the org-wide cap is not fully distributed. Adding more advocates spreads capacity. If you believe there is a counting bug (published drafts still eating from the cap), email support with your org name.
Brand Monitor or AI Visibility numbers look wrong after changing the date range
The date range filter applies to the detection date — when ReddGrow first indexed the mention or ran the prompt — not the original Reddit post date. Data only exists from after you added a brand or prompt. AI Visibility prompts also run on a schedule, not in real time. If the filter appears stuck (numbers don't change), try a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R / Ctrl+Shift+R) and re-select the range.

Features & Sidebar

What is the Dashboard?
Your Reddit marketing snapshot: today's super-relevant drafts, scanner status with a Scan Now button, account warmup widget, setup warnings, and recent posting activity. The first thing you see after login.
What does Performance show?
How your already-posted comments are performing on Reddit: total views, total upvotes, average score, plus breakdowns by campaign and by subreddit over 7/14/30 days. The Sync Now button asks the Chrome extension to refresh the latest metrics.
What is Journey (My Karma Journey)?
A per-Reddit-account growth tracker. See your milestone progress (Newcomer → Contributor → Trusted → Established), karma over time, posts this week, your current promotional vs karma-building ratio, and which subreddits unlock at which karma levels.
What are Drafts?
AI-generated comment replies waiting for your review. Tabs: All / Waiting for Approval / Posting Queue / Published / Archive. Statuses: Pending → Queued → Published or Archive (skipped). The Drafts page is where you'll spend most of your time.
What is a Campaign?
One product, website, or topic you want to promote. Campaigns hold their own subreddits, advocates, and knowledge base. Toggle a campaign off to pause scanning without losing any setup.
What is an Advocate?
An AI persona that writes your comments. Each advocate has a name, voice, role (Regular User or Employee), tone, creativity setting (0–1 slider), and daily draft allocation. Assign one Reddit account per advocate. Created via a 5-step wizard: Choose → Generate → Configure → Drafts → Fine-tune. Use Refine (/advocates/[id]/refine) to teach the advocate your personal writing style by rewriting sample drafts.
What is an Account?
A connected Reddit account that posts on your behalf. Connect by entering a username — no OAuth, no password. The Chrome extension acts under your existing logged-in browser session. Account cards show karma, account age, verified email, mod status, and current promotional ratio. The hierarchy is: Campaign → Advocate → Reddit Account.
What are Subreddits?
The communities the scanner watches. Filter, bulk-toggle active/paused, assign to campaigns, import from CSV, or use Discover to surface relevant ones. Only active subreddits feed the relevance scanning that produces drafts.
What is Brand Monitor?
Tracks every Reddit post mentioning your brand or competitors. Four sub-pages: Overview (mention volume, sentiment health, 7/30-day trend), Mentions (searchable feed of every Reddit post), Subreddits (which communities discuss you and their sentiment), Brands (manage which brands you monitor). Plan caps: Starter 1 domain · Growth 3 · Pro 5. Expandable via the $25/mo Domain add-on.
What is AI Visibility?
Tracks how your brand shows up in AI search engines — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI. Four sub-pages: Overview (visibility score per engine, timeline), Prompts (the search prompts you are tracking), Sources (domains AI engines cite when answering your prompts), Brands (your brand and competitors, separate from Brand Monitor brands). Plan caps: 10 / 100 / 200 prompts/mo. Expandable via the $100/mo Prompts add-on.
What's the difference between Brand Monitor and AI Visibility?
Brand Monitor watches Reddit for posts that mention you. AI Visibility watches AI search engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI) for your brand appearing in their generated answers. Different surfaces, different brand lists, gated separately by plan. Both have a "Brands" sub-page — they are separate scopes on purpose.
What's in Settings?
Nine tabs:
General — AI Relevance Threshold (Strict 70% / Balanced 50% recommended / Lenient 45%).
Scan History — Read-only log of your last 10 scanner runs: date, duration, posts found, drafts generated, status.
Activity — Chrome extension activity feed: comments posted, upvotes, browsing, karma checks, ban alerts.
Notifications — Per-topic email toggles + Chrome extension push notifications.
Account — Name, email, password change (revokes other sessions), delete account.
Billing — Plan, trial status, usage bars, API credit spending cap, plan upgrade. Owner/admin only.
Organization — Members, roles (owner / admin / member), invite by email, manage pending invitations.
API Keys — Keys for the ReddGrow Agent API and @reddgrow/cli. Prefix rg_. Shown once — copy immediately.
Integrations — Slack only (Growth+); daily digest at 9:00 AM UTC.
What's the difference between a warmup draft and a promotional draft?
A warmup draft contains zero product mentions, links, or brand references — its only goal is to earn karma by making genuine contributions to the subreddit topic. A promotional draft mentions your product or links to your site in a contextually relevant way. ReddGrow generates both types automatically based on your account's current warmup ratio (see Karma & Account Safety). Each draft on the Drafts page is tagged with its type.
How do I import many AI Visibility prompts at once?
Three methods: (1) Manual — add prompts one at a time from AI Visibility → Prompts. (2) CLI bulk import — use @reddgrow/cli with an API key to import from a CSV (rg prompts import --file prompts.csv). (3) Claude MCP — if you have ReddGrow's MCP server configured, instruct Claude to generate and bulk-import prompts using your brand brief. See docs.reddgrow.ai for the full guide.
Can I refine my advocate's voice — how does the rewrite wizard work?
Yes — go to Advocates → [your advocate] → Refine. The wizard shows 5 sample drafts the advocate recently generated. Rewrite each one in your own words — the way you would actually comment. After you submit, ReddGrow analyzes your rewrites to extract your tone, vocabulary, sentence structure, and disclosure style, then generates voice guidelines baked into every future draft for that advocate. Repeat the process as your style evolves.

Karma & Account Safety

Why does ReddGrow warm up my account?
Reddit flags sudden activity spikes from new accounts. ReddGrow ramps posting gradually so your account looks natural: Day 1–2 browse only → Day 3–4 one post/day → Day 5–6 two posts/day → Day 7+ full pace. Track this on the Dashboard's ReddGrow Warmup widget.
What is the promotional ratio and how does it change?
At low karma, ReddGrow posts mostly community/karma-building comments. As karma grows, the share of promotional comments increases automatically:

0 karma → 0% promotional
10 karma → 20%
50 karma → 40%
100 karma → 60%
500+ karma → 80% (cap)

See your current ratio on the Journey page and on each Account card (fire icon = still in warmup phase).
What are the karma milestones?
Journey shows four named milestones as karma grows: Newcomer (browse and genuine community comments only) → Contributor (occasional product mentions begin, ~1/day) → Trusted (1–2 product mentions daily) → Established (more promotional content, more subreddits unlock).
Why are some subreddits locked for my account?
Each subreddit has a minimum karma requirement. Posting in subreddits below 50 karma raises shadowban risk — the system lets you post but flags caution. The Subreddit Unlock Timeline on the Journey page shows exactly when each subreddit unlocks.
How do I protect my accounts from getting banned?
Keep the Chrome extension running so the system can pace posting correctly, do not manually post outside ReddGrow in the same subreddits you are targeting, always review draft tone before approving, and do not rush through the 7-day warmup ramp.
Why does a fire icon appear next to my Reddit account?
The fire icon means the account is still in active warmup — karma has not yet reached the threshold where the full promotional ratio unlocks. While the fire is visible, expect mostly warmup (non-promotional) drafts for that account. It disappears once the account crosses the first karma milestone. See the exact threshold on Journey → [account] → milestone progress bar.
What happens if I post manually on Reddit in the same subreddits I am targeting?
Manual posts do not update your ReddGrow activity log or daily cap. They do affect the account's real Reddit karma and post history. The main risk: posting promotional content manually while still in warmup can flag the account to Reddit moderators and the spam filter, which may interfere with the extension's ability to post from that account. Keep manual activity out of subreddits you are actively targeting with ReddGrow — especially during the first 7 days.

Pricing & Plans

Which plan should I choose?
Starter ($59/mo, $47 annual) — solo founder, 1 product. 1 campaign, 10 subreddits, 5 drafts/day, 1 Brand Monitor domain, 10 AI Visibility prompts/mo, unlimited team seats.

Growth ($149/mo, $119 annual) — active marketers running multiple campaigns. 5 campaigns, 30 subreddits, 15 drafts/day, 3 monitor domains, 100 prompts/mo. Slack integration unlocks at this tier.

Pro ($299/mo, $239 annual) — serious scale. 10 campaigns, 100 subreddits, 25 drafts/day, 5 monitor domains, 200 prompts/mo. All plans include unlimited team seats.
Is there an annual discount?
Yes — annual billing saves roughly 20% across all tiers. The billing page defaults to annual. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time; proration is handled automatically by Stripe.
What's the free trial?
Full access to every feature — campaigns, Brand Monitor, AI Visibility, AI drafts, and analytics. No credit card required to start. When the trial ends, scanning pauses until you pick a plan. A countdown banner appears in Settings → Billing as the trial gets close; a modal appears at 3 days, 1 day, and expiry.
Where do I upgrade or cancel?
Settings → Billing → "Manage Subscription" opens the Stripe portal. Only the org owner and admins can access the Billing tab — members see a lockout message.
What's the difference between a plan upgrade and an add-on?
A plan upgrade raises every limit at once (more campaigns, subreddits, drafts, monitor domains, and AI Visibility prompts). Add-ons let you raise one specific limit without switching plans — see the Add-ons section below.
Do you offer agency or team discounts?
Unlimited seats are included on every paid tier — one plan covers your whole team. For custom agency pricing email support@kaltalk.reddgrow.ai. ReddGrow also has a 30% recurring affiliate program — see the Affiliates page.
Can I extend my trial or request a refund?
Trial extensions are handled case-by-case — email support@kaltalk.reddgrow.ai before your trial expires. For refunds: ReddGrow does not offer automatic refunds after a billing period closes, but if a confirmed platform issue prevented you from using the product, email support with the details and we will assess a credit.
Do you offer a managed service if I do not want to run this myself?
Yes — two paths: (1) Done-for-you: our team sets up campaigns, writes advocates, and reviews every draft before it ships. Ideal for founders who want Reddit growth without learning the tool. Email support@kaltalk.reddgrow.ai for early access. (2) Verified partners: certified agencies that deliver managed Reddit marketing using ReddGrow. Contact us to be matched with a partner.

Add-ons

What add-ons are available?
Four monthly recurring add-ons, available on every paid tier:

Add-onPrice/moWhat it adds
Draft Bundle$20+5 drafts/day (stackable)
Extra Campaign$25+1 campaign slot
Brand Monitor Domain$25+1 monitored domain
AI Visibility Prompts$100+100 tracked prompts/mo
Where do I buy add-ons?
Two places: (1) When you hit a limit, an inline "Limit Reached" modal lets you choose between buying an add-on or upgrading your plan. (2) The "Add Drafts" button on the Advocates page lets you stack multiple Draft Bundles in a single checkout.
Which limits can't be extended with add-ons?
Extra subreddits, extra Reddit accounts, extra advocates, and extra team seats are not available as add-ons. For these you need to upgrade your plan tier (Starter → Growth → Pro). Subreddit cap and base daily-draft cap are tied to the plan tier.
Are add-ons a one-time or recurring charge?
Recurring monthly. Cancel any add-on anytime through the Stripe portal (Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription).
How quickly do add-on slots activate?
Immediately after Stripe checkout completes. The dashboard detects the return URL and syncs your new slots automatically — no manual action needed.
Are add-ons restricted to certain plans?
No — all four add-ons are available on every paid tier (Starter, Growth, and Pro).

Chrome Extension & Teammates

Why do I need the Chrome extension?
The extension does three jobs: (1) posts approved drafts to Reddit on your behalf, (2) syncs comment performance (views, upvotes, score) back to your dashboard, (3) tracks karma growth and warmup phase per Reddit account. You can use ReddGrow without it via the Copy & Open manual flow, but you lose posting automation and performance metrics sync.
How does the extension log in?
Click "Log In" inside the extension. It opens /extension-auth-callback in the browser tab where you are logged into the ReddGrow app. The page reads your existing app session and hands the token to the extension automatically. You never type your credentials inside the extension.
Does the extension work with multiple Reddit accounts?
Yes — it acts on whatever Reddit account is currently logged into reddit.com in that browser. Switch Reddit accounts in the browser and the extension follows. Most teams use a separate Chrome profile per Reddit account to keep sessions isolated.
How do multiple teammates each use the extension?
Each teammate installs the extension in their own browser and logs into their ReddGrow account there. The auth handshake passes their personal session token to their own extension instance. Two teammates running extensions = two separate posting sessions, each on their own Reddit account in their own browser.
Are posting limits per teammate or per org?
Limits are per organization, not per teammate. Draft pool, campaign cap, monitor domains, and AI Visibility prompts are shared across the whole team. On Pro (25 drafts/day) with 4 teammates that is 25 drafts total — split however you choose.
Can I assign drafts to a specific teammate?
Campaigns can be assigned to specific teammates from the campaign detail page (admin-controlled — useful for routing approval responsibility). Individual drafts, advocates, and Reddit accounts are owned by whoever created them. There is no "assign draft to teammate X" button. A draft approved into the Posting Queue is posted by whichever extension is signed in as that draft's owning user.
What if two teammates approve drafts at the same time?
Each posts on their own Reddit account from their own browser. The server coordinates the queue so the same draft is never double-posted.
Does the extension store my Reddit password?
No. It only uses the Reddit cookie already in your browser. ReddGrow never sees, stores, or transmits your Reddit password.
I installed the extension but nothing is happening — what's wrong?
Check in order: (1) the extension is pinned via the Chrome puzzle icon in the toolbar, (2) you are logged into the ReddGrow app in the same browser, (3) you are logged into reddit.com, (4) there are approved drafts in the Posting Queue tab on the Drafts page. Settings → Activity shows your extension's full recent action log.
Can I use separate Chrome profiles or GoLogin to isolate multiple Reddit accounts?
Yes — recommended for teams managing multiple Reddit accounts simultaneously. Install the extension in each Chrome profile separately and log each into a different Reddit account. The extension follows whichever Reddit session is active in that profile. For large-scale setups (e.g., accounts per U.S. state), tools like GoLogin work well: create one browser profile per Reddit account, install the extension inside each, and warm up each account independently through ReddGrow.
What happens when my Reddit cookie expires or I get logged out of Reddit?
The extension will stop posting — it relies entirely on your active Reddit browser session. You will see a gap in Settings → Activity. Fix: open the Chrome profile, log back into reddit.com, and verify the extension popup shows your Reddit username. No ReddGrow re-authentication is needed — only the Reddit login needs refreshing.

Other Questions

Can I change my workspace from Solo to Team later?
No — workspace mode is chosen during onboarding and cannot be changed. If you need a Team workspace, create a new org from the org switcher in the sidebar.
Does my API key work with the AEO or Reddit Intelligence API?
No — rg_ keys are for the ReddGrow Agent API and the @reddgrow/cli CLI tool. The AEO/Reddit Intelligence APIs have separate authentication. See docs.reddgrow.ai.
Why don't I have access to Brand Monitor or AI Visibility?
Your plan's domain or prompt cap is at zero. Upgrade your plan or purchase the relevant add-on (Brand Monitor Domain $25/mo, AI Visibility Prompts $100/mo).
Do you offer a white-glove / done-for-you service?
Yes — our team can set up your campaigns, write your advocates, and review every draft before it ships. Ideal for founders who want Reddit growth without spending time learning the tool. Full details coming soon. Email support@kaltalk.reddgrow.ai for early access.
Are there video tutorials?
We're recording walkthroughs for every feature. Check back soon — or email us to suggest a topic: support@kaltalk.reddgrow.ai.
Does Reddit actually move the needle for AI search visibility?
Yes — Reddit is one of the most frequently cited sources by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI because Reddit threads appear in most LLM training datasets and because AI engines actively crawl high-karma, community-validated answers. Use AI Visibility → Overview to track your citation score before and after posting campaigns. Most users see measurable lift within 30–60 days on competitive prompts. Brand Monitor can show which subreddits and comment types drive the most mention volume, helping you focus where it matters.
Can I track clicks or conversions from Reddit comments back to my site?
ReddGrow does not natively generate UTM links. Recommended approach: (1) Include UTM-tagged URLs (?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=comment) in your Campaign knowledge base or advocate profile — the AI will use them when drafting promotional comments. (2) Use a tool like Dream Data or Zapier to enrich inbound form-fills with Reddit attribution signals. (3) Cross-reference Brand Monitor → Mentions with sessions from reddit.com in your analytics platform on matching dates.
How do I run Reddit accounts across different regions or U.S. states?
Create one Advocate per Reddit account with a persona appropriate for that region or vertical. Assign each advocate to region-specific subreddits (e.g., r/Atlanta, r/Texas_real_estate). Use separate Chrome profiles or GoLogin profiles — one per Reddit account — to keep sessions isolated. Each profile has its own Reddit login; the extension follows that session independently. Your plan's daily draft cap (e.g., 25/day on Pro) is split across all active advocates.
